I started my web design business in March 1995, the same month that Sir Tim Berners Lee held a press conference to announce the World Wide Web to the world’s press. I created hundreds of websites for clients of all shapes and sizes, famous names and sole traders, and everyone in between. After about twenty years I moved into consultancy to talk to companies about how they could grow their businesses online.
Now I’m happily semi-retired and I’m looking to get back to my roots as it were. I want to use all my expertise to help people like you be the best you can be. I know that’s a cliché, but I really enjoyed that part of my job all those years ago when the World Wide Web was in its infancy.
In fact, there were only 16,000 websites back when I started. Today, there are over 1 billion.
None of my early clients had a website, it was an integral part of my pitch to them to explain what a website was and why they needed one. In many ways, that pitch is still needed. Most people these days ‘get’ that they need a website but some don’t really understand why, or what it can do for them.
So that’s where my years of consulting come in. I can talk to you about your business and then relate that to how you could be doing better business online.
It’s about creating your future.
Creating your future means building something that will grow and develop over time. It’s about making decisions today that support where you want to be tomorrow, whether that’s attracting more customers, building a stronger reputation, or creating new opportunities for your business.
Every successful business makes choices that move it forward. Some of those choices are small and practical, but over time they add up to long-term success.
A well-designed website is one of those choices.
Your website shouldn’t just exist online; it should actively support your goals. It should help the right people find you, understand what you offer, and feel confident about working with you.
That’s where I come in.
Before building anything, I start by talking with you about what you want to achieve. What are your objectives? Who are you trying to reach? What would success look like a year from now?
Once those goals are clear, I develop a plan for your website that supports them with a website designed not just to look good, but to work for your business.
Because the right website isn’t just about today.
It’s about creating your future.
